Some of our team at Rising Faith participated in a men's weekend retreat at the St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center in Pittsburgh, hosted by the Passionists Order. This retreat center is in their 100th year of offering retreats and is the oldest dedicated Catholic retreat center in North America. The center is located in a beautiful hilltop setting, overlooking the city of Pittsburgh, and offers retreats of all kinds to men and women's groups, recovery retreats, special spiritual programs and workshops, and hosted events, in prayerful and peaceful surroundings. The theme of our 2019 retreat was 'Blessed by God Who Surrounds You With Loving Compassion', and our Retreat Moderators were Fr. Gerald Laba, C.P., Fr. Curtis Kiddy, C.P. and Br. Andre Mathieu, C.P. In addition to the contemplative quiet time alone with God, we took advantage of daily Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, evening Adoration, a variety of informative and interactive workshops, great food provided by the generous staff team, and fellowship with all of the retreatants.
We were also able to generate many ideas for our upcoming Rising Faith year, and look forward on delivering many of these to you in the coming months. It was a regenerative experience for us, and one that enabled us to appreciate the special Rising Faith platform we share with you.
